How to do an Analysis to Maximize SEO Performance

Many people who think SEO is only a job done once during the life of the website.

Not so.

SEO is an ongoing process. A website owner must continue to observe its performance on their website while making efforts to maximize SEO.

But we are currently blind.

To be able to do optimization, you have to know what is happening on your website ...

... What numbers appear, whether there is an increase or decrease in performance.

Without knowing the relevant numbers, we will not know at all what needs to be addressed and what is good.

Therefore, follow this guide so that you can always get maximum SEO performance.

Things you should know (and do):
Because valuation is the last process in SEO, you must first do this:

On-page SEO: Website page optimization
Off-page SEO: Link building and popularity
The principle of content marketing in SEO
(The 3 guides above are previous chapters in this series of SEO guides)

After that, you are ready for the first step.

1. Integrate Search Console and Google Analytics
Although many people say these two tools are not mandatory, but for a serious SEO practitioner you should both use them.

Click here for how to install Google Analytics.

Once installed, enter the Search Console and add your website.

Nothing will happen in a short time. These two tools take several days after they are installed because they will only collect data.

These data will be used to further optimize.

If your website has a .xml format sitemap, submit it to the Search Console now to make it easier for Google to read your site.

2. Make crawling with tools
Crawling is a process carried out by search engines to browse web pages while gathering information.

We will imitate this process.

The goal is to find out the big picture of your website ... whether there is an error, whether there are broken links, internal duplicates, and empty meta tags.

Use one of these 3 tools:

ScreamingFrog SEO Spider
WildShark SEO Spider
BeamUsUp SEO Crawling Software
ScreamingFrog is the most complete feature, but the free version can only scan 500 pages in one go. While the premium version is $ 99 per year.

Two other alternatives are equivalent but 100% free.

Go to one of the links above and download the software, then scan and fix what's wrong.

Some improvement processes with ScreamingFrog are discussed in this SEO technique guide. Because the appearance of the three is similar, you can apply the guide to any tool.

3. Further keyword research
In this series of SEO guides we have briefly discussed keyword research that will be used in:

Title
Meta description
Content
But if you really intend to make search engines the main source of traffic, do further keyword research.

How to do keyword research is discussed here.

If you follow the guidelines above to the end, you will also find ways to evaluate keyword performance.

4. Analysis of content performance
80% (or more) of a page on your website is content. So the effect of content on SEO is at least 80% of all the things you do.

Humans like to get content that is satisfying, so that search engines will give good ratings to satisfying content.

Read this guide to analyze content with Google Analytics.

Finish ...
The last chapter in this SEO guide is quite short because each step in assessing SEO performance has been discussed specifically in their respective guidelines.

If you follow this guide from the start, it means that now you have mastered the basics of SEO.

All you need to do after this is to apply the knowledge that you have learned, then when you have the data continue to the performance analysis as above.
